Konstas’ antics reminded fans of the moment on Day 1 when Kohli shouldered the young batsman during the morning session, leading to a heated exchange that required the referee’s intervention to diffuse tensions.
Kohli’s actions on Day 1, which occurred while Konstas was in excellent form, drew criticism from former Australian players and media, who labeled the Indian batsman a “bully” and a “clown”. Konstas, however, seemed unfazed by the confrontation and continued to punish the Indian players with a series of unconventional blows. The 19-year-old’s dream debut saw him score a brilliant 60 off 65 balls, with six boundaries and two sixes, setting the stage for Australia’s imposing 474-run first innings, bolstered by a century from Steve Smith.
