Despite rumors about their retirements, Gambhir expressed confidence in Kohli and Sharma’s commitment to the game. He commented, “What I can say is that they are still hungry, they are still passionate. “They are tough people and hopefully they can continue to move Indian cricket forward.” This sentiment comes amid growing concerns about his recent performances; Rohit managed just 31 runs in five innings of the series, while Kohli struggled to find form after an opening century in Perth.

“It would have been good if I had been there”: Gambhir
When asked if the Indian team could have won the Sydney Test, if jasprit bumrah were fit to bowl, Gambhir reiterated that they should not depend on any one player to be successful. He pointed out that even in Rohit’s absence in the final Test due to form issues, India had a capable team ready to compete.
“I don’t want to say that just because Bumrah wasn’t there we couldn’t get the results.” Gambhir added. “It would have been nice if he had been there, but we still had five players and a good team is one that doesn’t depend on one individual.
“We didn’t get the result, no matter how simple it may be. “We lost the series here.”
