Dutch forward offers himself to Barcelona for January or July move

Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen is reportedly looking for a fresh start and is drawn to the sunny Costa Brava. With his contract running until 2026 and no signs of an extension, he is expected to leave either in January or the summer.

Malen has offered himself to Barcelona, while Atletico Madrid has also shown interest. Dortmund is reportedly willing to accept a €20 million offer for the 25-year-old. Barcelona, however, has no plans to act in the winter window unless a significant injury arises.

Despite Atletico’s previous interest last summer, their substantial investment in their forward line makes a move for Malen in 2025 less likely. Barcelona could be a more probable destination in the summer, as they are looking for an alternative to Robert Lewandowski, given his advancing age. This season, Malen has scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 17 appearances, and continues to feature for the Dutch national team.
