The price of the Real Madrid and Manchester City target could rise to 40 million euros

Real Madrid have joined the list of teams looking closely at a deal for Uzbek international Abdukodir Khusanov, but the price is rising for the Ligue 1 centre-back. Los Blancos have reportedly started contacts with the agents of Khusanov.

This is according to a recent report from Santi Aouna, who was the first to reveal Real Madrid’s interest in Khusanov, which has since been confirmed by Marca and Diario AS. The first of them reports that they are monitoring the RC Lens defender, with an agreement in sight for around 20 million euros.

However, The Athletic say it could be closer to double that price to get him from Lens. Manchester City have also opened talks with their squad, while adding Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United to their list of suitors. His information is that Lens will ask for around 40 million euros for his signature.

Khusanov is under contract until 2027 and, although they are open to selling their latest star, they are in a position to demand a decent fee for him. Real Madrid showed last summer with Leny Yoro that they will only pay what they believe a player is worth and are willing to lose him if Premier League teams overtake them.
