Barcelona announced a new sponsorship deal with sportswear brand Nike about a month ago, but the figures for the deal have not been announced. Reports estimate the total value of the deal at around €1.7 billion, with Nike’s contract expected to extend from 2028 to 2038.
The secrecy surrounding the contract has been questioned by rival groups, with the club stating that due to Nike’s confidentiality clauses they cannot reach further agreements. However, Radio Catalunya affirms that it is not only external suspicions that have arisen.

His information is that the Barcelona board did not fully agree on the agreement and there was tension about it. In particular, President Joan Laporta and Marketing Vice President Juli Guiu did not leave things on the best of terms, after Guiu asked him a series of uncomfortable questions.
During Laporta’s second term, Barcelona has seen notable turnover in the hierarchy, with around 40 senior managers and positions changing over the past three years. Barcelona has announced a General Assembly of members to vote on the agreement with Nike this Saturday.
