Former Spain and Arsenal star Santi Cazorla is open to returning to the Emirates Stadium.
Cazorla faces the decision to draw the curtain on his playing career in 2025, when his contract with Real Oviedo expires at the end of the campaign.
Despite turning 40 in December, Cazorla remains a key player at Oviedo, in his second season in the Spanish second division.
The club is open to offering him a renewal, if he remains fit, and the possibility of continuing to play until he is 41 is on the table.
However, becoming a coach is an option and Cazorla is already thinking about his future plans.
Cazorla was invited to Arsenal’s Premier League victory over Ipswich Town and took a quick post-match photo with his old teammate Mikel Arteta, as rumors grow about a long-term return to north London.
“[Could I come back?] Yes, why not? Arsenal is my home. I love the club and the people, so we’ll see in the future.
“I don’t know [what role I would have]. “I would have to think about that, but definitely something in football, because that’s what I love.”
Cazorla and Real Oviedo are currently on their winter break and will return to action at home against Sporting Gijón on January 11.
