Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has adopted a notably more stern demeanor this season, likely due to some disappointing results. However, it’s been suggested that his frustration goes beyond public criticism, pointing to internal dissatisfaction.
In recent weeks, speculation has arisen that another poor run of results could put Ancelotti’s job at risk, with reports outlining what the club’s hierarchy feels he is doing wrong. Antonio Romero, speaking on Cadena SER, mentioned that Sporting Director Santiago Solari is one of the figures expressing frustration with Ancelotti – and that this may be a source of the Italian’s irritation as well.
“As strange as it may sound, we are all human. Ancelotti must be thinking, ‘I’ve just won La Liga and the Champions League, and now after the first bad streak of the season, with injuries and problems, they’re telling me Solari is upset.’ It’s human to feel angry about that,” Romero said.
He added, “I don’t think Ancelotti’s frustration is directed at the media or the criticism he hears, but rather at the internal disappointment from people at the club who may feel that the team is slipping away from him.”
One of Ancelotti’s key strengths has been his ability to manage both the players and the club’s top brass, including figures like Florentino Pérez. Few managers have been able to handle powerful owners, like Berlusconi at Milan or Pérez at Madrid, as effectively as Ancelotti. Given Solari’s own history as a manager, Ancelotti might not be welcoming strong input from the Argentine.
