Now Nagelsmann is in a Goalkeeper Jam

After the goalless draw against Ukraine, the DFB team trembled to a narrow 2-1 victory against Greece in the last test seven days before our opening match against Scotland (2-2 against Finland) after a very weak performance in the first half.
33rd minute: Our number 1 in the European Championship goal (BILD rating 5) lets a harmless Tzolis shot slip through his fingers and bounce forward. Masouras scores to give Greece the lead.

Now Nagelsmann is in a Goalkeeper Jam.

Nagelsmann on RTL: “He not only saved the two, but also a few more after that. I won’t allow any discussion to arise, even if everyone tries. He secured the 0-0 for us. It’s always easy when a mistake happens.”
The goalkeeper was responsible for conceding a goal in Bayern’s Champions League exit against Real Madrid (2:2) and on the last Bundesliga matchday against Hoffenheim (2:4) (after having previously kept out really strong goals for a long time).
This means that our goal at the European Championships will be discussed again. Number 2 Marc-André ter Stegen (32) recently told BILD: “I don’t share Nagelsmann’s opinion.”

The fans see it that way too. In the BILD vote (over 90,000 participants), 72 percent said that ter Stegen should be in goal at the European Championships – only 28 percent were for Neuer. It was only in March that national coach Julian Nagelsmann (36) made it clear that Neuer is number 1 at the home tournament.
Nagelsmann starts with his dream eleven for the opening match of the European Championship in Munich – with the two Champions League winners Kroos and Rüdiger (for Groß and Anton). But at the beginning, everyone is still a long way from being in European Championship form.

In the first half, the DFB team played wildly at the back, losing the ball numerous times in midfield and going forward without any ideas or goal threat. The situation was different for the Greeks (50th in the world rankings), who are not even taking part in the European Championship after their play-off elimination against Georgia in a penalty shootout and who posed major problems for us with their quick combinations and transition play.
