La Liga transfer summary with moves from Sevilla, Villarreal and Betis

As January business begins to pick up, here’s a rundown of some things you may have missed from La Liga in recent days.

Alavés

Striker Abde Rebbach has moved to Granada on loan until the end of the season, while AC Milan talent Luka Romero has ended his own loan spell in the Basque Country to rejoin Cruz Azul after just 8 appearances for Alavés.

Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo has more or less decided to activate the purchase option for Ilaix Moriba from RB Leipzig for around 6 million euros, of which Barcelona will receive 10%. His stay at the club will depend on whether he is willing to reduce his salary; Celta hope so after some brilliant performances in recent months.

Relevo goes on to note that new sporting director Marco Garcés has fired all but two of his predecessor Luis Campos’ first nine signings: Williot Swedberg and Oscar Mingueza. Jorgen Strand Larsen is the only one with whom they have made profits.

USMNT midfielder Luca de la Torre has joined San Diego FC on loan until the end of the season, while Jonathan Bamba is expected to join the Chicago Fire in the coming days.

Spanish

Ajax talent Naci Unuvar ended his loan spell at the RCDE Stadium following the arrival of Roberto Fernández from Braga last week. Unuvar has arrived on loan to FC Twente.

The Palms

Diego Martínez has reinforced his defense with 24-year-old right back Andy Pelmard. The Frenchman arrives from Clermont Foot, having spent the first half of the season on loan at Lecce, with an option to buy.

Leganes

The young winger Naim García has arrived on loan to Racing Ferrol until the end of the season.

health

After 6.5 years and 184 games, right back Nacho Vidal arrives at Real Oviedo for free. After major injuries and a loan spell at RCD Mallorca in the second half of last season, Vidal had fallen out of favor, but he left excited after a spell in which he reached the Copa del Rey and won the Second Division.

Rayo Vallecano

Deportivo La Coruña striker Lucas Pérez is on the verge of ending his fairytale return to his home club in Galicia, after declaring his relationship with the club had “deteriorated”, leaving him feeling “uncomfortable” . Having helped them gain promotion to Segunda, the 36-year-old is close to joining Rayo Vallecano, says Diario AS.

RCD Mallorca

The young forward Javi Llabres has closed his loan to Eldense de Segunda in search of minutes.

Real Betis

Relevo affirms that Real Betis is interested in recovering Álex Moreno from Aston Villa. On loan at Nottingham Forest, they have an option to buy Moreno, but Nuno has not used the Spanish left-back much lately. Villa, meanwhile, would need to terminate one of his existing loan deals for a move to occur due to FIFA limits and while Moreno is interested in a move, his wages could be another issue.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Rui Silva has joined Sporting CP on loan, with a €4.7m transfer agreed for the summer after 3.5 years in Sevilla.

Real Valladolid

Veteran midfielder César de la Hoz has left for Real Oviedo on a free transfer. The 32-year-old has played 26 games in the last 18 months but has only featured once in the Copa del Rey this season.

Seville

Sevilla have said goodbye to another member of their last Europa League title, the return of Gonzalo Montiel to Argentina. The world champion leaves after 3.5 years to return to River Plate in exchange for 4.5 million euros after 81 appearances, 3 goals and 6 assists.

Villarreal

Villarreal has given Napoli a deadline to decide on the loan of former Real Madrid centre-back Rafa Marín until the end of the season. Relevo says the Yellow Submarine wants to reach an agreement before Saturday, or they will withdraw. Napoli’s failure to sign Danilo after leaving Juventus has stalled the move, but Antonio Conte’s team is still seeking Marín’s loan.
