Barcelona has maintained confidence that sooner or later Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor will be registered, while La Liga has remained silent on the matter. However, as the Blaugrana assured that the matter would be resolved on Friday, it was reported that La Liga has no intention of registering Olmo or Víctor, leaving them as free agents.
However, on Friday night, Barcelona president Joan Laporta perhaps indicated why he and Barcelona have been so confident. In his WhatsApp status he shared at 9:19 p.m. and then deleted a text that apparently came from the RFEF. It appears to support Barcelona’s claim to have Olmo and Pau Víctor registered, although there are few ways to verify the text.
EYE!! We count on @JijantesFC
Does Laporta miss this in his WhatsApp status? Sorry? https://t.co/3KVGW55406 pic.twitter.com/BzGNLceiKR

The text, shared by Gerard Romero about Jijantes, says the following.
“The RFEF, having heard the arguments of the FCB, shares them in that art. 130.2 RFEF Regulations are NOT applicable to the Dani Olmo/Pau Víctor case, since, in said case, the withdrawal of said players has occurred, not by the will of the club (which is what this article provides) but by external factors and contrary to the will of the club. It is an indisputable fact that both the club and the players want to remain in the FCB squad throughout the season. This interpretation of the rule is consistent with the obvious purpose of said article, which is precisely to promote stability in the composition of player squads, so that…”
From here, it’s not so clear what will happen. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is in charge of homologating the players’ licenses, but it only does so on instructions from La Liga, something that has not yet happened.
If neither player is registered, both will be free agents and Barcelona is at risk of this. The club appear to be contemplating a mutual termination of their deals and then an attempt to retain Victor and Olmo in the summer if that happens. However, the club have maintained a firm stance that they are confident the pair will be registered and are likely to take the case to court before that happens.
