Barcelona finished 2024 in very bad shape, so they will have wanted to start 2025 on the front foot. As things stand, they are on course to achieve this after doubling their lead over Barbastro in their Copa del Rey last 16 tie.
It was Eric García who opened the scoring for the Catalans, and just a few minutes later, he had doubled the score. Pablo Torre took an excellent free kick to the far post, where Robert Lewandowski headed past a Barbastro defender.
⚽️ GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Another center into the area that Barça converts. Lewandowski finishes to make it the second.

Lewandowski had not started the game in the best way, but he made up for it with this goal. He barely missed the far post, although the Barbastro player’s deflection certainly helped the ball reach the net.
Barcelona should be able to move forward, with the only concern being to get through this contest without injury problems. In this field, it is easier said than done.
