Real Madrid may have left it late, but at the end of the day, isn’t that their specialty? Jude Bellingham has made a habit of standing up when his team needs him most, and that’s what he did again in his first game of 2025.
The whites had problems in Valencia, losing a goal in the first half. It took them some time to get going, but they found their ears cut off several times. Bellingham stepped up to take a penalty and beat Stole Dimitrievski, but not inside the post.
Moments later, Kylian Mbappé found the net, but was narrowly offside after Bellingham’s assist. And it seemed all hope was lost when Vinicius Júnior was sent off with 15 minutes left for putting his hands in Dimitrievski’s face.
However, Luka Modric equalized for Real Madrid with five minutes remaining and, despite his man disadvantage, it looked more likely. As they pushed high, Bellingham made a loose pass to score the winner.
