Barcelona coach Hansi Flick received his first red card in Spanish football this Saturday when he was sent off to the Benito Villamarín stands during the 2-2 draw against Real Betis. Flick seemed more incredulous at the decision to expel him than at the decision he was supposedly protesting.
After the match, the German manager was left baffled by the decision to sack him, claiming he was angry and yelling at himself. The referee noted in his minutes that Flick had left his technical area, shouting and gesturing in protest at one of his decisions.
Now DAZN Spain believes it has identified why Flick was expelled. Upon returning to his technical area, Flick raises his hand in exasperation, after which the referee, informed by one of his assistants, turns and sends Flick off.

Barcelona are willing to appeal the red card, which if applied will ban them from playing on the touchline during Barcelona’s final two La Liga games of the year, against Leganés and Atlético Madrid. The Blaugrana hardly need more adversity in La Liga, with just one win in their last five games domestically.
