Valencia focuses its attention on the Bournemouth full-back after Como took first option

Valencia appear to be taking steps to strengthen their squad in the hope of seeing them climb out of the depths of the relegation zone under new coach Carlos Corberán. One of his priorities is to replace Thierry Correia, ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a cruciate ligament injury, but he is already the second option.

They had initially been negotiating with Sporting CP for the loan of former Real Valladolid right-back Iván Fresneda, but they have been defeated. According to Relevo, Cesc Fàbregas’s Como have reached a loan agreement with the obligation to buy the 20-year-old player for 10 million euros at the end of the season. The Spanish talent will try his luck in Serie A after a disappointing spell in Portugal.

Faced with this movement, Valencia has turned its attention elsewhere. Bournemouth full-back Max Aarons is his alternative, and that would also be a loan with an option to buy, as they had agreed for Fresneda, in this case for 8-9 million euros. The Ches are in the final phases of negotiation and are looking to close the deal this week.
