The former Real Madrid coach wants to help Barcelona with the departure of Ansu Fati

Barcelona are interested in signing Marcus Rashford this month, but that will only happen if Ansu Fati leaves, whether on loan or permanently. As things stand, there is not enough salary space to sign the Manchester United attacker, so his departure is absolutely essential.

Fati is the main candidate to leave, as Rashford is seen as his replacement. Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen have been linked with departures, but Barcelona prefer to let go of the 22-year-old, especially as he has no place in coach Hansi Flick’s plans.

Fati has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur this week, but is reportedly adamant in his desire to remain at Barcelona for the remainder of the season, believing he will be able to get back into Flick’s thoughts. As such, this would end any chance of Rashford arriving, although there is still hope for the Catalans that things could happen.

According to Diario AS, José Mourinho really wants to bring Fati to Fenerbahce. The former Real Madrid coach has not been very impressed with Allan Saint-Maximin this season, and his idea would be to replace the on-loan Al Ahli winger with Fati.

Mourinho would want Fenerbahce to immediately start negotiations with Barcelona in case Saint-Maximin’s loan deal is cancelled. Without a doubt, the Catalans would appreciate it, although the condition would be that an important part of the salaries be covered as part of an agreement for the remainder of the season.

While Barcelona might be optimistic about Fenerbahce’s interest, it would be a big surprise if Fati gave the green light to complete a deal. He seems determined to stay in Catalonia until at least the summer, and if he does, Rashford would almost certainly not arrive.
