Spanish artist Lola Indigo has publicly responded to Real Madrid’s denial of her upcoming concert at the Santiago Bernabeu, which she had announced for June 14, 2025, as part of her tour. The club issued a statement on Monday denying any arrangements for the concert, citing ongoing soundproofing work at the stadium in collaboration with Madrid’s City Council, which is preventing concerts from being hosted for now.
Indigo, speaking on the popular talk show La Revuelta with David Broncano, expressed confusion over the club’s response. “We have a date, which is June 14. They gave us the date; we didn’t just make it up. We’re all working together in a cooperative way to ensure we don’t disturb the neighbors. If any neighbor wants to attend the concert, I invite them for free,” she said.
She further clarified that the concert could only take place once the stadium’s soundproofing project is completed, a process that is still ongoing. “Madrid issued a statement because the legal process is serious. The truth is, people read the headline but not the full statement. What they’re saying is that concerts can’t happen until the noise issue is resolved,” Indigo explained. “We requested the soundproofing project before making the announcement, so we had the assurances we needed.”
Indigo also spoke fondly of her friendship with Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, calling him “the best in the world” and revealing that her support for the club is largely due to him. “I’m a Madrid fan because of Vini,” she said. “He doesn’t know much about these matters. He’s never had a drink in his life.”
Real Madrid has faced legal challenges over noise pollution from concerts held last summer and has been forced to pause such events to address the issue. While President Florentino Perez has downplayed the economic impact, the club still holds lucrative contracts to host events at the stadium.
