In a sensational display of wrist spin mastery, Noor Ahmed changed the course of the SA20 2025 clash between Eastern Cape sunrise and the Durban Supergiants with back to back Zak Crawley and Aiden Markram layoffs.
Noor Ahmad weaves a web against Sunrisers Eastern Cape
First, Noor edged Zak Crawley, on the second ball of the 10th over, with a beautifully flown delivery that dipped deceptively into the air. Crawley, who was well positioned on 38 off 29 balls and hitting vigorously, lunged forward but failed to get close to the ball. The delivery viciously spun past its inside edge and flattened the middle stump, leaving Crawley visibly shaken as Noor celebrated a vital breakthrough.
With plenty of momentum, Noor unleashed another masterpiece to dismiss Markram off the next ball. This time, the delivery took off completely and skidded sharply backwards from outside off-stump. Markram, attempting an ambitious attack, was defeated in every way when the ball deflected off his pads. Although initial appeals seemed lukewarm, the review proved decisive, revealing three reds on Ball Tracking and sealing Markram’s fate for a golden duck. The ball was shown to hit the top of leg and middle stump, underlining Noor’s precision and control. These two wickets in consecutive deliveries derailed Eastern Cape’s batting and showed Noor’s ability to seize the moment under pressure.
