Real Madrid’s main objective now prioritizes contract negotiations with the current club

Real Madrid are chasing Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold but are also trying to land Alphonso Davies this month. The Bayern Munich left back is considered a great opportunity on the market and a possible answer in that position for much of the next decade.

Davies agreed terms with Real Madrid in March last year, and Los Blancos have not amended their offer, with both sides agreeing to talk again when the time comes. Relevo assures that there is a pending discussion between the club and Davies’ agent in the coming weeks, but that any attempt to renegotiate with them could collapse the operation.

However, with Bayern pushing to renew him and positive reports coming out of Germany in this regard, Relevo explains that Davies is now prioritizing talks with the Bavarian giants, in what is a major change from several months ago. Although Davies did not plan to stay until now, now both he and Bayern are willing to give up their starting positions and will listen to his offer first and foremost.

Liverpool consider it a good opportunity, but it is not a priority and, like Manchester United, who had an offer rejected, they are behind the whites and Bayern in the queue. Barcelona are also interested in telling Davies he could make a good offer, but their financial problems have them on the outside looking in.

Real Madrid refused to negotiate with Bayern in the summer over a transfer, almost assuming that the Canadian would be available on a free transfer now. However, it will be interesting to see if they look for another left-back if Davies doesn’t arrive, with Fran Garcia considered a rotation option and Ferland Mendy trusted from top to bottom.
