Despite the expulsion against Valencia last Friday, Real Madrid hopes to have Vinicius Junior available for the Spanish Super Cup. The 24-year-old was eligible to face Deportiva Minera in the Copa del Rey on Monday because the Spanish Football Federation has yet to rule on the dismissal, although it is expected to be resolved before Los Blancos face to Mallorca on Thursday night.
The Federation’s Disciplinary Committee met on Tuesday to discuss Vinicius’ red card against Valencia, and the punishment is expected to be a two-match suspension. That would mean the Brazilian will not be able to play in Saudi Arabia, even if Real Madrid reach Sunday’s final against Athletic Club/Barcelona.
Despite this, Real Madrid has included Vinicius in its squad for a trip to the Middle East, as confirmed this Tuesday.

After the match against Valencia, which Real Madrid won 2-1, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that the club would appeal Vinicius’ red card, and that for this reason he could have been called up. If that appeal is not heard until Friday at the earliest, the Brazilian winger will most likely be able to face Mallorca.
