Indian innings desperately in need of a partnership
The Sydney pitch has behaved quite unusually on the first day of the New Year’s Test, with lush green areas and uneven bounces especially helping the pacers. This has resulted in Indian openers and top order players succumbing to the Australian bowl attack. India now needs a strong partnership to keep its innings afloat. Pant’s resistance, however, did not last long as he was dismissed after scoring 40 runs off 98 balls.
