LOOK: Vinicius Junior adds a third as Real Madrid heads towards victory in the Intercontinental Cup

Without a doubt, Real Madrid will collect its second trophy of the season: the Intercontinental Cup. Carlo Ancelotti’s team had a relatively slow start against Pachuca, but in the final minutes in Doha they already have a 3-0 lead.

It was Kylian Mbappé who opened the scoring at the Losail stadium, and Rodrygo Goes would increase Real Madrid’s lead shortly after the break. With just a few minutes remaining, the defending European champions scored their third goal thanks to Vinicius Junior.

It was a good move by Lucas Vázquez to win the penalty, and Vinicius made no mistake from 12 yards: it’s the 14th goal of the season (in all competitions) for the Brazilian superstar.

Real Madrid felt comfortable in this match and their success in the Intercontinental Cup will be well deserved. Now they just need to see the minutes left to get the second trophy of the season.
