Real Madrid will see their matchday six clash against Atalanta as a must-win, given that they have already lost three of their first five games in the league phase of this season’s Champions League. Fortunately, they are on their way to getting the three points after regaining the lead they had given up.

It was Kylian Mbappé who opened the scoring in Bergamo, although Charles de Ketelaere managed to equalize for Atalanta from the penalty spot in the last action of the first half. Real Madrid have taken the lead again and it is Vinicius Júnior who scored on his return from injury.

It is a fortuitous rebound that allows Vinicius to get behind, but there was nothing fortuitous in the shot, which was excellent. Real Madrid have now regained their lead and will be desperate to maintain it until the final whistle blows. However, a lot can still happen in the remaining minutes.
