Kylian Mbappé has opened up about his improvement at Real Madrid.
The French international scored and assisted in Real Madrid’s final game of 2024, and a 4-2 win over Sevilla took them to second place in La Liga.
Mbappé closes 2024 with 10 league goals under his belt, after an uneven start in Madrid, with injuries and some key moments against him.
Despite the setbacks, he retains the support of his teammates and Carlo Ancelotti, who has warned him that his adaptation period is over.
Ancelotti’s firmness is key for Mbappé, and the forward pointed out that failure makes him stronger, highlighting his missed penalty in the 2-1 defeat against Athletic Club as a turning point.
Since then, Mbappé has scored four goals in four starts and the 26-year-old believes that setback has made him stronger for the upcoming campaign.
“We are getting to know each other better. My arrival changed many things in the team. I feel very good and on the field you can see that we understand each other better,” according to Relevo.
“I can do much more. I know I have a lot more football in my legs than I’m showing. But, as I said, I’m improving in the last few games.
“That night in Bilbao was good for me, because I hit rock bottom. “Then I realized that I had to give everything for this shirt, play with personality.”
Real Madrid now head into the mid-season break before an early return to the league against Valencia on January 3.
