Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was visibly pleased with his team’s victory over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night, a 3-2 victory that left them second in the Champions League standings. His neighbors will also be delighted, as he revealed after the game.
Not because Flick is gone (the German coach and Barcelona spent the night of Tuesday and Wednesday in Dortmund) but because he kept his promise. After the game, Flick
“I think the presence of so many fans here is fantastic. On Monday I had dinner in Barcelona and met a neighbor in a restaurant. He told me he would come with his three children and asked me to win. He also told me that he was in a Liverpool rout,” Flick explained to Relevo.

The main problem for Flick is translating his European form into domestic action. The Blaugrana have the opposite problem to the one they have been facing in recent years, with just one win in their last five League games.
“This victory should give us confidence. We have a very young squad and games every 3 or 4 days. The good thing is to see how all the players behave, in training and in games. I hope to see this again on Sunday against Leganés.”
Barcelona closes its 2024 with home clashes against Leganés and Atlético de Madrid, of which six points would guarantee first place during the Christmas holidays. However, the Red and Whites are in top form in Spain, with their victory over Slovan Bratislava being their tenth consecutive victory.
