The record for best T20 figures is currently held by Malaysia‘s Syazrul Idruswho took 7 wickets for only 8 runs against Porcelain in a T20 International match in 2023. Following him is Colin Ackermanwho claimed 7 wickets for 18 runs for Leicestershire against Birmingham Bears in Vitality Blast from England. Taskin’s figures, therefore, are now the third best in the recognized history of T20 cricket, a testament to his elite bowling prowess.

Taskin’s historic performance began with the early dismissal of Litton Das. In his second over, Taskin rocked Das with a sharp bounce that found a trap at the slip, reducing Dhaka Capitals to 6/1. After this breakthrough, Taskin attacked again in the fourth over, eliminating Tanzid Hassan wWith a delivery that found the edge and was trapped behind. These early advances set the tone for what was to come.
Taskin returned for the crucial 17th over, where he continued his assault on the Dhaka Capitals batting order. he fired Shahadat Hossain Dipuwho had been playing with a steady hand with a knock of 50 runs off 40 balls, with a ball of perfect length that squared him and led to a catch straight to the keeper. Taskin followed up with the dismissal of Chaturanga de Silvaboth in quick succession, further accelerating Dhaka’s collapse.
