On Thursday night (16), Cruzeiro beat Unión La Calera-CHI 1-0, with a goal from Matheus Pereira, at Mineirão. With the victory, Cabuloso remains alive in search of direct classification for the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana.
With the three points, Raposa reached nine points and now supports Universidad Católica-EQU, which has 10 and plays against Alianza Lima-PER in the fifth round. If the Ecuadorians do not win, Cruzeiro could take the lead in Group B in a direct game in the last round of the first phase. With the defeat, the Chileans were eliminated in the group stage.
It is worth remembering that only the first place in each group qualifies for the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana. The second-placed team qualifies for the playoffs, where they will face an opponent from the Libertadores.
