Champions League side working to convince Barcelona to part ways with player in January

Barcelona has been sending out the message that there will be no entries or exits in the January transfer window. However, that won’t stop others from trying to convince them to do so.

Amid ongoing talks over creative midfielder Pablo Torre, Girona will return to the battle for Eric Garcia. According to Relevo, Girona will try to convince Barcelona to part ways with the 23-year-old in January; Michel Sánchez is the only coach that García would leave to the Blaugrana. His main obstacle is whether Barcelona consider him their alternative to Marc Casado in midfield, as he will move to the bottom of the pecking order in defense with Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen returning from injury to compete with Pau Cubarsi and Íñigo Martínez.

García spent last season on loan at Girona and stood out as one of their best players. This season García has played 13 times for 541 minutes, but has only started in one loss to Leganés since the beginning of October. Of those 13 appearances, 7 have been in the center of the field.
