Carlo Ancelotti on Kylian Mbappé’s problems: “He knows that he is not at his best, which gives me a good feeling…”

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has told Kylian Mbappé to continue fighting to regain his best form, ensuring that this will come with time. The French striker has ten goals this season, but two missed penalties in eight days have shown that his confidence is currently low.

Ancelotti was transparent about Mbappé’s state of mind and stated that the number nine is aware that he is not performing well.

“He is aware, because the post he posted after the game is from a player who is aware of what he can and will do. We are with him. He is not showing his best version. There are many who do not know it and are not aware of it. He is. And he is doing everything he can to do it as soon as possible.”

On Thursday night, Real Madrid legend Predrag Mijatovic suggested that Ancelotti should perhaps leave Mbappé on the bench to get a reaction from him. He was asked if being recalled or benched could help Mbappe.

“You have to evaluate all things. Explain to him what he needs to do to improve on the field. I think in terms of his game, his intensity has improved a lot. Against Getafe he did 600 meters at maximum intensity and against Athletic 500. It is a good level. “We have to support him, but that doesn’t mean he has to play every game,” Ancelotti told reporters.

The French striker is clearly low on confidence and it was suggested that Real Madrid could look for some form of outside help or some way to help him, perhaps with a psychologist.

“I think it is a continuity problem and it will come when he and his teammates adapt to their characteristics, which are peculiar and special. It will come little by little. “He is aware and will work to reverse the situation.”

Mbappé gave the penalty against Getafe to Jude Bellingham, who scored it, but missed the last two. Many Real Madrid fans wonder if it is wise to continue with him as a penalty taker.

“The issue of sanctions, for now, depends on the motivation. I was very motivated to do it in Bilbao, at another time I was no longer there. You have to survive the moment. You have to fight, sacrifice, give your all, because the moment, sooner or later, will end. What gives me a good feeling is that the level of intensity has improved in the last two games.”
