Melbourne Renegades kept their playoff hopes alive with a thrilling three-wicket victory over Brisbane heat at Docklands Stadium in match 38 of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. Jake Fraser-McGurk’s brilliant 46-ball 95 proved to be the match-winning performance as the Renegades chased down a target of 197 with two overs to spare, eliminating the Brisbane Heat from the tournament.

The innings was boosted by contributions from Jack Wood (45 off 27) and Tom Alsop (42 off 26), both showing their ability to clear the ropes. Matt Renshaw contributed a spirited 40 off 22, while Nathan McSweeney anchored the top order with 29 runs. Max Bryant’s latest flourish (12 for 5) added crucial runs to the tally.
For the Renegades, Adam Zampa (4-0-29-2) and Callum Stow (4-0-31-2) excelled on the ball, providing key breakthroughs to keep the goal within reach.
