Barcelona’s Dani Olmo blocks transfer interest amid registration crisis

Barcelona didn’t do much business in the summer, but having signed the player with the most goals at Euro 2024, there was a feeling that signing Dani Olmo could help them make the leap to the next level. However, they have not made life easy for him.

Currently, Olmo can leave Barcelona for free if he wishes, as he has a clause in his contract that allows him to exit the deal if he is not registered. The Blaugrana cannot play him after missing the January deadline to increase their salary cap and register the Spanish playmaker, and his request for clemency has been rejected by the RFEF and La Liga. Barcelona now hopes to search Olmo and his teammate Pau Víctor through a court order.

The 26-year-old has a host of top European clubs interested in offering him a new home, but MD says he remains committed to Barcelona and wants to stay at the club. He does not listen to offers from other parties and also maintains the hope that the club will resolve the matter through judicial means.

That said, the events and uncertainty around him have taken their toll on the player, and Olmo has felt uncomfortable with the situation, and the uncertainty about his future also affects his routine.
