Barcelona have been considered one of the favorites to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, and their negotiations over a new deal with Ronald Araujo will not be an obstacle to this. The Uruguayan ends his contract in 2026 and the Blaugrana want to close a new contract with him before the end of the season.
If they fail to do so, Barcelona will likely have to consider a sale. However, sporting director Deco sees Araujo as one of his main options alongside Tah next season, if Barcelona can reach an agreement. The German international has a place in the team next season alongside Araujo, Pau Cubarsi and Íñigo Martínez if all goes to plan for Deco. It had previously been suggested that Tah could replace the outgoing Araujo.
The potential signing of Jonathan David seems to be eluding him. Tottenham Hotspur have made him a significant offer and, although he is open to waiting for now, his patience will not last indefinitely. @sport

However, this is not the case for Eric García and Andreas Christensen, who will be asked to leave if contracts are agreed for both Tah and Araujo. Sport say a deal with Tah is “very close” and has the backing of coach Hansi Flick. He is willing to make financial concessions and accept an offer lower than the one made by Bayern Munich.
