Barcelona sanctions the departure of the transfer

Barcelona is currently immersed in its registration crisis with Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, but if all goes well, it will consider selling Eric García. The Catalan defender returned to the club three years ago, but has struggled to get a starting spot.

Last season was his first in LaLiga as a guaranteed starter, after leaving on loan to Girona. At the request of Hansi Flick, García returned to Barcelona this summer but has again struggled for minutes, with most of his opportunities coming in midfield as an alternative to Marc Casado.

Girona tried to bring him back last summer on a permanent contract, but Flick stood his ground. However, it is now reported that Barcelona will approve a deal for García to return to Girona if Olmo and Víctor register without problems. Nil Sola, from SER Catalunya, reports that the agreement will be for around 10 million euros between a fixed and variable fee for the 23-year-old player, when he has 18 months left on his contract with Barcelona.

That said, Barcelona coach Flick contradicted those reports by saying he had no knowledge of Garcia’s desire to leave the club on Friday afternoon. However, García shares a good relationship with Girona manager Michel Sánchez, who has brought out the best in him since returning to Spain from Manchester City.
