Barcelona has not abandoned its bid to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor and, at least for now, it has achieved this after its exploration of the legal route has borne fruit.
According to El Larguero (via Sport), the Higher Sports Council (CSD) has granted Barcelona its long-awaited precautionary measure, which allows it to register Olmo and Víctor for the moment.

However, both will not be available to face Athletic Club in Wednesday’s Spanish Super Cup semi-final, although they could play against Real Madrid or Mallorca in Sunday’s final, should Barcelona get there.
This is very good news for Barcelona, although it is only a temporary solution. There is still a lot of work to be done to rectify the situation and make Olmo and Víctor available for the rest of the season, but this is a good start.
