Barcelona makes a contract plan in case Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor are not registered

Barcelona is nervously awaiting the verdict from LaLiga and the RFEF on the releases of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, after having presented what it believes are all the necessary documents to have them available again. However, they are banking on an exception to the rule: both players are unregistered and the deadline has already passed.

In theory, both players can leave the club for free on the last day of the transfer market, since without registering they no longer own their rights. Although the club assures that they do not contemplate any other scenario that does not end with the registration of both, Sport affirms that they are making contingency plans.

Their information is that Barcelona will offer both Olmo and Víctor a mutual termination of their contracts. However, they would then agree for the same contracts to start again on July 1, 2025, when the transfer window opens again. This would allow both players to find new teams over the next six months and continue playing, before returning to Barcelona; The Blaugrana are desperate not to lose any of the players permanently.

This clearly requires the consent and willingness of both players to commit their future to Barcelona, giving up a considerable amount of money in the process. Both could negotiate as free agents if they decide to unilaterally terminate their agreements, which by law they could do. There are conflicting reports on whether they would keep their salaries, but most reports claim that Barcelona would pay them in full on their contracts. It should be noted that Olmo’s agent, Andy Barça, has publicly stated that they are not negotiating with anyone else, and that his client’s intention is to remain at the club.
