Barcelona icon Gerard Piqué meets Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior in a restaurant

Former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has had several disputes with Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior on the pitch, but in recent weeks they had their first off it. The couple was seen eating together at a restaurant in the Spanish capital.

According to Relevo, the dinner took place at the Amazónico restaurant in the Salamanca neighborhood. The topic of the meeting was Piqué’s Liga del Rey project, which involves former players and celebrities in small matches. After expanding from Spain to Mexico, the next stop is Brazil, with Kaká as president of the league and Neymar Junior as president.

Vinicius has a small stake in the Loud team, and Piqué hoped to use Vinicius in his promotional work, but a video featuring the Real Madrid player was removed at the last minute. An issue arose regarding their image rights, although it is unclear if they were at odds or if it was another party.

The couple has history on the field, but they also have a relationship outside of it. They spoke before Vinicius arrived at Real Madrid while he was playing video games, and in the past the Catalan defender has claimed that Vinicius was previously a Barcelona fan because of the presence of Neymar. Piqué has also had players like Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas in the Kings League.
