Barcelona has announced that its members will vote on a new 14-year partnership with Nike for the American sportswear giant to continue manufacturing their kits. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed yet.
The club has scheduled an Extraordinary General Assembly for December 21 at 10:30 CEST, where the vote will take place. This is one day before their final match of 2024, at home against Atletico Madrid.
This decision comes amid calls from opposition groups for greater transparency regarding the deal and other club matters. Barcelona has stated that Nike has requested confidentiality on the specifics of the contract, which is in line with their usual practice.
According to Sport, the new deal is expected to bring in an additional €45 million per season, even though the current agreement runs through 2028. The new contract, which will extend until 2038, is set to generate an extra €60 million per year starting in 2028.
