Barcelona believe Serie A winger for next summer is more economically viable than Jorge Mendes option

Barcelona remain intent on signing a top-class left-winger next summer after missing out on Nico Williams during the last transfer window. Among the potential targets are Serie A stars Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Rafael Leão.

Kvaratskhelia, currently in a contract standoff with Napoli, is expected to command a fee of at least €80 million. Negotiating with Napoli’s owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, could prove challenging, but the Georgian winger is viewed as a more attainable option than Leão. The AC Milan star reportedly has a strained relationship with manager Paulo Fonseca, but his club’s valuation, exceeding €150 million last summer, poses a significant hurdle.

According to Sport, both players are reportedly open to joining Barcelona. Kvaratskhelia holds an edge due to his lower salary demands and younger age. Meanwhile, Nico Williams, who is rumored to remain Barcelona’s preferred choice, could still be in play if he prioritizes a move to the Catalan club next summer.

However, all plans are contingent on Barcelona resolving their ongoing financial constraints. The club remains over the La Liga salary limit, severely restricting their ability to make significant investments for the time being.
