Barcelona adds the Serie A striker to the list of substitutes for Robert Lewandowski

Barcelona are on the hunt for a new number nine who could eventually replace Robert Lewandowski, sooner or later, and have been linked with several names in that regard. The latest is Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbian forward has been at the top since he was a teenager and was already on Barcelona’s radar when he broke through at Fiorentina. However, Juventus surprised the world by shelling out more than €80 million for Vlahovic as the next big number nine in European football.
Since then, he has had a difficult time at the Bianconeri, scoring goals but never becoming the star many expected. So far this season, he has 12 goals in 24 appearances, and during his stay at Juventus in total, 53 goals in 125 appearances in the last three years.

According to Sport, Barcelona are looking at Vlahovic as a possible signing in the future. The Serbian striker is said to be a potential summer target and is being evaluated by Barcelona. Other targets such as Erling Haaland and Viktor Gyokeres are now considered impossible for the Catalan giants due to the finances involved in the deal.

With Vlahovic, his contract ends in 2026, which could favor Barcelona if a new agreement is not reached before the summer. Arsenal have also shown interest, but the Blaugrana know that Juventus will try to sell him this year before risking his free exit in 2026. It is also noted that Xavi Hernández was a big admirer of Vlahovic, but Hansi Flick’s opinion of him is not it is known

Chelsea are another team that has been linked with Vlahovic in recent weeks, and his agent will no doubt be assessing potential destinations should the time come. Atlético Madrid have also pursued Vlahovic in the past, as have Real Madrid, although such links have since been denied.
