While there have been a number of comments about Hansi Flick’s affable nature throughout the season, one of the reasons Barcelona reportedly signed him was to install discipline in the team. There is no doubt that he has fulfilled it.
According to TV3, Iñaki Peña has been the latest player to suffer from Flick’s punctuality rules. Instead of imposing fines, Barcelona’s coach has a rule that means players will be benched if they are late to team meetings. Jules Koundé and Lamine Yamal have already faced the consequences of that rule on multiple occasions, and Peña missed the start of a match a few minutes before their semi-final against Athletic Club.

As a result, Wojciech Szczesny earned his second start for Barcelona, after making his Copa del Rey debut last weekend. When asked about it, Flick was forceful in his response and said: “Iñaki was on the bench, that was the decision I made.” Next question’.
To some extent, it has reignited the debate over the goalkeeping position, after a decent performance from Szczesny, making two important saves. Given the circumstances, it would still be a surprise if Peña did not return to the final.
