Real Madrid are on course for a vital La Liga victory thanks to a 3-0 lead in Girona.
Los Blancos are pushing to close the title gap to two points this weekend, with a win in Catalonia, after league leaders Barcelona drew 2-2 at Real Betis today.
With opportunities scarce in the first half, it was Real Madrid who got the only chance, through the in-form Jude Bellingham.
The England international reacted quickest inside the area when a loose ball escaped his grasp in the 38th minute and scored his fifth league goal in his last five games.
Bellingham then turned provider in the 55th minute, when his pass behind the Girona defense was met by Arda Guler, for his first goal of the season.

The result now appears to be beyond doubt, thanks to a timely goal from Kylian Mbappé, when the French international finished off Luka Modric’s pass for his ninth league goal of 2024/25.
