The sporting director linked to Manchester United will leave Atlético de Madrid on December 31

Throughout 2024, Andrea Berta’s prominence at Atlético de Madrid has progressively fallen. The appointment of Carlos Bucero as the club’s sporting director, which occurred in January, has left him increasingly out of place at the Metropolitano and, therefore, he will leave.

Berta’s contract ends at the end of the season, although it turns out she won’t stay that long. According to El Chiringuito, the Italian will leave his position as sports director on December 31.

In recent weeks, Berta has been linked with the possibility of taking on a similar role at Manchester United as they look for a replacement for the recently deceased Dan Ashworth. It remains to be seen whether he will end up at the Premier League giants in 2025, but either way, it is certain that he is living out his final days at Atlético Madrid, where he worked for the last 11 years.
