The Real Madrid defender makes a 180-degree turn and will look to leave in January

Real Madrid defender Jesús Vallejo would probably never play much under Carlo Ancelotti this season, and that became clear to him at the start of the campaign. Even he might have expected a bigger turnout than the 10 minutes he’s had all season, and it seems to be influencing his mind.

The Copa del Rey clash against fourth division side Deportiva Minera appeared to be one of the few opportunities for Vallejo to play, but Relevo reports that he unfortunately suffered a muscle injury this weekend. He missed practice on Sunday and will not be available on Monday night. The same source states that Vallejo is now looking for a way out this winter.

Real Madrid will do what they can to facilitate an exit if Vallejo brings an offer to their door, but be warned that it will not be an easy exit.

Vallejo only has six months left on his contract, which Los Blancos are not seeking to renew, but it is likely that the former Real Zaragoza centre-back does not want to miss the rest of his contract at Real Madrid. This will be at a much higher rate than what you can get on the market, hence the “difficulty” of finding a destination for it.
