The head of Atlético de Madrid reacts to the complaints of the Real Madrid referee

The controversy is never too far in Spanish football, and the last big issue is the referees around the referees. This has been caused by Real Madrid, who sent a strong letter to the Spanish Football Federation earlier this week to the back of his controversial defeat against Espanyol last weekend.

Real Madrid was furious about the decision not to send Carlos Romero for a strong challenge about Kylian Mbappe, and his fury multiplied ten times when the Espanyol defender scored the winning goal in the front stadium of the stage. Ultimately, this caused the last and statement published by the club.

Many people have opted for their opinion on the matter, and according to MD, the president of Atlétic Tuesday against Getafe. He insisted that the main problem is with the video assistant referee (VAR) technology, more than the referees themselves.

“Everything is conditional. The referees always have controversies. Everything is conditioned in this life, but today we play a very important game and we are here to play with Getafe, not to talk about the referees. In addition, the problem is the VAR ”.

Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo and His Real Madrid Counterpart Florentino Perez

Cerezo has been commonly open against VAR in the last 12-18 months, so it is not surprising that he has taken this position. Real Madrid also does not like technology at this stage since he thinks he could not correct the decision in the yellow card for rosemary.

It will be very interesting to see how this issue progresses in the coming weeks. There has been a significant response from all Spanish football sectors to this recent matter, and there is no doubt that the referees will continue to be a hot topic of conversation for many years.
