The Ghanaian international is approaching his loan to the La Liga team

At one point, Joseph Aidoo was the heart of Celta Vigo’s defence, but the former Chelsea centre-back has been sidelined by a serious Achilles tendon injury. Now he’s looking to get regular playing time again.

Celta are open to a loan deal in January to alleviate their salary cap situation for the next six months, especially given that they have only played 162 minutes under Claudio Giraldez so far, despite being fit all season. Relevo explains that Las Palmas is the best placed to sign him on loan, in the hope of strengthening their defense and their bid to stay at the top. Real Valladolid needs something similar and is also interested in case his move to Las Palmas fails. With his contract closed in 2026, Celta will also hope to attract interest from others for the summer transfer window.

Until now, Diego Martínez has relied heavily on Scott McKenna and Alex Suárez to anchor the center of his defense, which has looked dramatically improved under his command. Meanwhile, Mika Marmol has been moved to the left side of defense but could reportedly be on the move sooner rather than later. Valladolid is in a desperate situation, with the worst defense in La Liga by 7 goals.
