After it was revealed that Juventus were interested in signing Barcelona centre-backs Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen, the Italian team has received a huge boost. The Uruguayan defender is reportedly open to a move.
According to GdS (via Football Italia), which initially reported the Bianconeri’s interest in Araujo, the defender would have agreed to move to Serie A if they manage to reach an agreement for him. Juventus is looking for a loan until the end of the season with an obligation to purchase in the summer, although they will have to convince Barcelona, which has no planned departures of key players this January.

The element of uncertainty comes from Araujo’s contract negotiations. While there has been more optimism that Barcelona can agree a new deal in recent months, Barcelona have yet to give the defender a significant pay rise and have threatened to sell him if they cannot reach an agreement before this summer.
