Ronaldinho to become a grandfather at 45 after Burnley player announces partner is expecting

What connects Barcelona and Brazil legend Ronaldinho to Burnley is a great quiz question, but it could soon be that his grandson is born in the North-West of England. Ronaldinho’s son, Joao Mendes, has announced on social media that he and his partner, Giovanna Buscacio, are expecting a child.

Joao Mendes, 19, had a brief spell with Barcelona’s under-19 team last season after leaving Cruzeiro, and is now part of Burnley’s under-21 side. He has yet to make his senior debut under manager Scott Parker at Turf Moor.

Ronaldinho’s son, Joao Mendes, revealed the news with his partner, 25-year-old Giovanna Buscacio, sharing that they are “16 weeks and counting.” At 45, Ronaldinho will soon become a grandfather. The former PSG star still occasionally represents Barcelona as an ambassador, and recently played in a legends match against Real Madrid, scoring a trademark free-kick. Since retiring, he has faced his fair share of challenges, including spending months in a Paraguayan prison for using a fake passport at border control.
