Real Madrid players privately admit a major problem after Rayo Vallecano’s draw

It looked like Real Madrid had completed a trademark comeback against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night, taking a 3-2 lead after being two goals down. Perhaps they did it too soon, as Rayo came back into the game and got the tie.

The Real Madrid team was reportedly furious that they were not awarded a penalty for a challenge on Vinicius Junior, who the club’s website blamed for their inability to win. As pointed out on Cadena SER, Vinicius may have been lucky enough to be on the pitch at that time, something that was not mentioned by Carlo Ancelotti or the club’s website.

However, the players did not share the opinion that he was responsible for the result. Privately, the Spanish broadcaster says the players admitted that a draw was a fair result, given how much they gave up in defence. The attitude has improved in recent weeks, but the Real Madrid players are aware that it is difficult for them to defend.

After a streak of three clean sheets in La Liga, Los Blancos have once again conceded seven goals in their last four games. In addition to Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao and David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, who was Ancelotti’s first line of four defenders in his first season, has also been absent in recent weeks.
