Real Madrid are considering bolstering their midfield next summer to fill the gap left by Toni Kroos’s departure. One player on their radar is 20-year-old Hugo Larsson from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Larsson has been in excellent form for Eintracht, who are currently Bayern Munich’s toughest competitors in the Bundesliga. According to SkySports DE (via Diario AS), Real Madrid is among several clubs keeping tabs on the Swedish talent, with Manchester United and Arsenal also reportedly interested. His price is expected to be around €50 million.
Real Madrid had already identified Larsson as a promising prospect. Since his time playing for Malmö’s under-19 team, from where he moved for €9 million two summers ago, he has consistently impressed scouts.
Larsson has started all but four of Eintracht’s matches this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist in 19 appearances. Despite playing in a deep-lying midfield role, he has shown an ability to make late runs into the box. Recently, Real Madrid has relied on Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos in midfield, partly due to injuries but also to regain better control of the game in the middle of the pitch.
