Real Madrid, close to losing Alphonso Davies

For several months, it looked like Alphonso Davies would move to Real Madrid in July this year. However, with Bayern Munich making considerable progress, that prospect is now fading into the distance.

Sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed talks with Davies this week, while manager Vincent Kompany has spoken of how important he is to their plans. SkySports DE journalist Florian Plettenberg said earlier this week that Davies was close to signing a new contract with Bayern and notes that Eberl will try to finalize it this week, although there are still some details to be worked out.

That’s in addition to Diario AS saying that Davies appears to be further and further away from Real Madrid, and that the transfer saga is about to be resolved. The Whites reportedly agreed terms with Davies in March 2024, but it appears the Canadian will accept Bayern’s offer.

The permanence of the 23-year-old left back in Bavaria would leave Los Blancos in an interesting situation. Ferand Mendy has extended his contract, while Fran García has a contract until 2026. However, Real Madrid have been looking for a new long-term answer in the position for some time, as Mendy approaches his thirties, amid doubts about its performance. , although not by Carlo Ancelotti.
