Real Madrid arrives at the January transfer market with a lot of money invested, at least it hopes so. Their recruitment drive is for the summer, but deals for both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies are likely to be decided in the first month of the year.
Regarding the latter, Diario AS explains that Real Madrid is waiting to see what happens. Bayern Munich has increased its offers and intensified talks to try to retain him. However, Real Madrid have not made any moves in recent months: they hope that Davies keeps his word that he would sign for them at the beginning of the year. Los Blancos agreed to terms with him in March, and those terms remain in place as things stand. Real Madrid will not increase its offer.
The Canadian left back could be a starter for Real Madrid in the coming years if he signs with the whites. Fran García has a contract until 2026, but is not considered a first option. Meanwhile, the club have agreed, if not announced, the renewal of Ferland Mendy, but the French defender has been in and out of the team this season due to injury and form.
